Get Vaccinated for a Chance to Win Event Tickets! The City of Orlando Hosting Raffle at Select Vaccination Sites
WHAT:
With the COVID-19 vaccine serving as the best way for individuals to protect themselves from the impacts of the virus, the City of Orlando and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer are encouraging residents to get their shot by hosting a raffle for event tickets at select vaccination sites.
The vaccine sites are made possible through a partnership between the City of Orlando, Orange County Government and the Florida Department of Health – Orange County. The sites and the raffle support the “Fill the Orange” campaign, aimed at encouraging as many Orange County residents as possible to get the vaccine. The campaign also includes vaccine education and outreach efforts.
“The vaccine is the best way for Orlando residents to protect themselves from the impacts of COVID-19, which include serious illness and even death,” said Mayor Dyer. “The City of Orlando is committed to working with our partners to make the vaccine accessible to residents. Through this raffle, we’re hoping to provide extra encouragement and an extra incentive for residents to get the vaccine to protect themselves and to help our community move forward.”
Residents age 12 and up who get vaccinated at these sites on select dates can enter into a raffle to have the opportunity to win tickets to Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin, J. Cole, Marc Anthony, Jimmy Buffett and other concerts at the Amway Center, Orlando Magic and Solar Bears games at the Amway Center, Orlando City SC matches at Exploria Stadium, college football bowl games at Camping World Stadium and shows at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
Residents who get the vaccine at the following sites can enter to win tickets through the Strengthen Orlando not for profit by submitting their name, phone number and showing proof of vaccination. (One entry per person. No purchase necessary. Winners chosen will be chosen at random on August 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Orlando City Hall, 400 South Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32802):

Mayor Dyer announced last week that he was postponing his State of the City address, set for August 19, to keep the focus on vaccination efforts. On this date, he’ll highlight the raffle and other vaccine opportunities throughout the community.

Mayor Dyer will join the Orlando Regional Chamber and All Women Empowered (AWE) for the 2021 AWE Impact Forum to celebrate Orlando’s women leaders and highlight the importance of getting the community vaccinated. In addition to his remarks, this collaborative event will raise awareness of the regional resources that help propel women forward.

Mayor Dyer will join District 6 City Commissioner Bakari F. Burns to visit one of the COVID-19 mobile vaccine site at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center. The mobile sites are part of a partnership between the City of Orlando, Orange County and the Department of Health in Orange County to bring mobile vaccine sites to residents in their neighborhoods over the next few weeks through the #IGotMyShot Trailer.

Mayor Dyer will visit Bliss to showcase that many local healthcare providers, who are trusted by residents, are offering the COVID-19 vaccine at their facilities to patients and others. In addition to offering the vaccine, Bliss regularly provides doctors’ visits, testing, access to medication, laboratory, mental health, transgender medicine, and community linkage and referrals, as well as educational and awareness activities.
